Submissions to BC and Canadian Governments

I have made several submissions to the BC government and the Canadian government on public interest issues, such as child and youth mental health, legal aid, poverty, budget consultations, and medical assistance in dying (#maid). 

The full submissions have not been published as they contain sensitive information related to my professional practice experience as a social worker and/or personal information to highlight how specific public policies, or laws, have impacted people I have known in my personal life.

During the time I was the Chair of the Child Welfare and Family Committee for the BC Association of Social Workers (BCASW), and the president and representative for the Vancouver-Sea-to-Sky Branch on the provincial board of the BCASW, I drafted a number of media releases that were quite successful in getting media attention and public interest on a range of social welfare issues.

Greetings and welcome to my multi-media portfolio. I have written many different multi-media pieces that have been published in a wide range of media outlets across Canada including local, provincial and national news and media outlets and magazines for the past few years.

I have also made several written submissions to provincial and federal governments on a range of social welfare issues.

I have been the editor and publisher of a number of blogs and have had hundred of thousands of hits on all of my blogs, collectively. It is blogging that has really helped me hone my writing skills and move into being published.
